Summer Reading 2015!

Any North Riverside resident, from birth until age 18, or non-resident Komarek student, can participate in this year's Summer Reading Program, "Every Hero Has a Story!" All readers and pre-readers, including babies and toddlers, will have the reading goal of 25 hours over 8 weeks. Other highlights include weekly raffle jar contests, activities and crafts, and great evening entertainment programs!

Book Club

Come to the library at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14 to discuss One Summer: America, 1927 by Bill Bryson, which recounts the story of a pivotal cultural year in the United States when mainstream pursuits and historical events were marked by contributions by such figures as Charles Lindbergh, Babe Ruth, and Al Capone.


Refreshments will be provided.

Women Heroes of World War II

Come to the library at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15 to hear Kathryn Atwood, author of the young adult collective biography, Women Heroes of World War II, discuss the roles played by the women included in her book who worked in various European resistance efforts. She will also recount some of her communications with the women or their friends and family. Her Power Point presentation will be followed by a Q&A and book signing.
