Job Search Workshop ---- Career Direction and Preparation

Are you struggling with staying motivated in your job search? Are you having a hard time finding jobs on the Internet? Do you want to change careers, but are unsure what to do next? Come to the library from 10:00am until 12:00pm on Saturday, March 7 to learn how to run a successful job search and about career management from Paula Giovacchini, President of Gio Group, Inc., which specializes in business and leadership development training. Refreshments will be provided.

The Eastland Disaster

Come to the library at 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 18 to hear members of the Eastland Disaster Historical Society, including Executive Director and Chief Historian Ted Wachholz, who is the author of the book,The Eastland Disaster, discuss Chicago’s Greatest Tragedy.   In this presentation, you’ll see dozens of photographs, video interviews of several survivors, and a video revealing how George “Papa Bear” Halas arrived too late to board the Eastland. A granddaughter of a survivor will also give a compelling first-hand narrative.
