The Golden Age of Television

Come to the library at 6:30pm on Wednesday, May 20 to see Larry Bergnach, a humorist on television as well as a frequent guest on WGN radio with Rick Kogan of the Chicago Tribune, present classic TV programs, such as “The Honeymooners,” “I Love Lucy,” “Ed Sullivan,” “Arthur Godfrey,” “Lawrence Welk,” “Gunsmoke,” “Bonanza,” “Howdy Doody,” and others. He also will lead us in singing songs that were popular on early television programs.  Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.


This program is part of Celebrating Seniors Week, in which community organizations, agencies and businesses partner together to create events to educate and entertain older adults, as well as keep them active. Copies of the Senior Resource Guide listing all of the events will be available.

Book Club Discussion

Come to the library at 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 12 to discuss The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith, which tells the story of private investigator, Cormoran Strike, inspecting a supermodel’s suspicious suicide and finding himself in a world of multi-millionaire beauties, rock star boyfriends, desperate designers, and hedonist pursuits.
