MLB Umpire, Pilot and Author Dick Cavenaugh

Dick Cavenaugh was the home plate umpire for the first game of the 1984 National League playoffs between the Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres. He was an airman during the Korean War. He has dealt with many well-known people in politics, business and movies including Elizabeth Taylor, Bob Hope and President Kennedy. He has also traveled throughout the world. He wrote a book about his amazing experiences titled, “Just About But Not Quite.” Refreshments will be provided.
This program is being presented as part of Aging Well Month, in which community organizations, agencies and businesses partner together to create events to educate and entertain older adults, as well as keep them active. Senior Resource Guides listing all of the events will be available.
