“Marty” is the story of a 34-year-old Bronx butcher (Ernest Borgnine) who fears that he will never find love, but at a Saturday night dance, he meets a woman (Betsy Blair) with similar fears. Paddy Chayefsky adapted his TV play for the screen. Oscar winners for Borgnine, Chayefsky, director Delbert Mann, and Best Picture.
