Poetry Month Poetry Hunt
poetry monthFor kids in preschool through fifth grade. Starting April 1, find the poetry hiding all around the children’s area. Pick up a Poetry Month Hunt form at the YS Help Desk, and start searching! If you can find most of it, you will win a prize. North Riverside residents only.

Read to a Dogread to a dog
If you like to read, you’ll love reading to a dog! Gentle, book-loving dogs from the PAWSitive Therapy Troupe will be ready and waiting to hear stories from you. Must be an independent reader; one reader to a dog. Sign-up for up to three 15-minute slots. Preregistration is a must, either online or at the YS Help Desk.

RBHS Finals Study & Snacks

Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24 from 3:30 –7:30 p.m.

For high school students. Enjoy beverages and snacks while you take a break from studying for finals. In the main floor meeting room, right next to the Young Adult area.

Summer Reading 2016

This summer, get On Your Mark, Get Set…Read!  Easy reading goals, prizes, raffles, activities & crafts and great evening entertainment for the whole family. You’ll have a blast while keeping your reading skills sharp!

Sign up starts Wednesday, June 1. For North Riverside residents up to age 18, and non-resident Komarek students.

Summer Tween/Teen (6th – 12th) Volunteers

Summer means tons of opportunities to earn community service hours in fun ways. Stop by the YS Help Desk starting April 1 for an application. Training sessions will start in May.

Junior Volunteers – 4th and 5th grade

Junior Volunteers (North Riverside residents in 4th or 5th grade) are welcome! Opportunities include: cleaning board books, checking books for damage, straightening shelves, refreshing shelf-end displays, writing book reviews for the library’s website and more!

Tween / Teen Year-Round Volunteering – 6th — 12th grade
