North Riverside Public Library offers more than:
- 35,000 Books
- 5,000 Ebooks
- 3,000 DVDs
- 1,000 CDs
- 1,000 Books on CD
- 200 Video Games
- 150 Magazine Subscriptions
To search for specific items in the library’s collection, please visit the library’s online catalog, SWAN.
Borrowing
To check out books, DVDs, CDs, books on CD, video games, or magazines from North Riverside Public Library, please visit the library and bring them to the circulation desk.
To check out ebooks or audiobooks from North Riverside Public Library, please visit Media on Demand.
You can check out:
- Books, CDs, Books on CD, and Magazines for 2 weeks
- Video Games and DVDs for 1 week
- New DVDs for 2 nights
- eBooks and eAudiobooks for 1, 2 or 3 weeks
Please note that New DVDs are loaned on a first come, first served basis; the Library does not hold or reserve new movies.
Renewing
If no other North Riverside resident has requested the items that you want to keep, you can renew:
- Books, CDs, Books on CD, and Magazines 2 times (Each renewal is for 2 weeks).
- Video Games and DVDs 1 time (Each renewal is for 1 week).
Please note that New DVDs are not renewable.

An Item From A Library in SWAN
If you are a North Riverside resident, and the item that you want is from a library in SWAN (Please click here to view a list of libraries in SWAN), you can request that an item from another library be sent to North Riverside Public Library. You can request an item in many different ways, including:

An Item From A Library not in SWAN
If you are a North Riverside resident, and the item that you want is not from a library in SWAN (Please click here to view a list of libraries in SWAN), you can request that an item be sent from another library to North Riverside Public Library. As with requesting an item from a lbrary within SWAN, you can request an item from a library not within SWAN in many different ways, including :
