What We Offer
The North Riverside Public Library offers an array of services for personal, educational and professional needs.
Study Rooms
The Library has two study rooms available for public use, located in the Youth Services Area on the lower level. The study rooms are designed to meet the needs of two to four patrons who want to work together in small groups for limited periods of time. Study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Meeting Rooms
As part of its service to the community, the Library provides meeting rooms for use by local community groups and organizations. The main floor Meeting Room is available for larger groups and the Youth Services Story Room on the lower level for smaller groups. Those who want to use one of the rooms will be required to file an application and provide a $100.00 refundable cleanup/security deposit. Click for our meeting room application, and read our full Meeting Rooms policy.
Notary Public
The Library offers Notary Public services for the benefit of the residents of our community. It is recommended that patrons seeking Notary Service call the Library at (708) 447-0869 prior to their visit to ensure that a Notary is available at that time. Notary Service is provided free of charge. Valid photo identification is required of any patron seeking Notary Service. Because a Notary is vouching for the authenticity of a signature, documents to be notarized must be signed in the presence of the Notary.
Faxing and Photocopying
The Library has self-service photocopiers on both levels, a black-and white photocopier on the main floor and a color photocopier in the Youth Services Area on the lower level, and provides fax service at the main floor Circulation Desk. The cost is 10 cents per exposure for black and white photocopies and 50 cents per exposure for color photocopies. There is no charge for faxing or scanning documents.
Display Cases
As an educational and cultural institution, the Library welcomes exhibits and displays of interest, information and enlightenment to the community. Displays of artwork, handiwork, historical material, nature study or any other material deemed of general interest may be exhibited. The Library assumes no responsibility for the preservation or protection, and liability for possible damage or theft of any item displayed or exhibited. All items placed in the Library are there at the owner’s risk. The public is invited to use the Library’s two lockable display cases for monthly exhibits. They are located on the main floor and in the Youth Services Department. Those interested in providing an exhibit should call the Library at (708) 447-0869 and indicate which display case they are interested in using.
The North Riverside Historical Society also has ongoing displays in the main floor Meeting Room.
